The Bolivar Beach Club & RV Resort is located on the Upper Texas Gulf Coast, just east of Galveston Island on the Bolivar Peninsula in Crystal Beach, Texas. We are located just 1-hour from Beaumont, 1.5-hours from Houston, 4.5-hours from Dallas & Fort Worth, and a quick ferry ride from Galveston, Texas.
From Houston, the Bolivar Beach Club & RV Resort is accessible via two routes.
You can avoid the ferry by taking Interstate 10 to Exit 828, then go south on Highway 124 at the Winnie exit. Highway 124 will take you straight Highway 87 that runs along the coast. Once you arrive at Highway 87, the Bolivar Beach Club & RV Resort is 19 miles to the west. We highly recommend driving this route for its scenic views and ease of travel.
Jump on Interstate 45 and head south to Galveston, then take the ferry from Galveston to the Bolivar Peninsula. Don’t worry, the ferry can accommodate any size RV and it’s always free!
Riding the ferry is a great opportunity to watch schools of dolphins that frequently swim alongside the ferries, or to see brown pelicans, sea gulls, and other marine life at play in the harbor.
Ferries run the 2.7 miles between Galveston and Bolivar Peninsula on a regular schedule 24 hours a day seven days a week. You can get up to date information on ferry wait times by clicking here. The ferry also provides regular updates via Twitter here.
